With the ‘Preach the Blues’ project, we want to go beyond the role of festival. Support is important, and we want to go far in that. Therefore, with ‘Preach the Blues’ we provide stage time at GC Den Brueghel in Haacht on Sunday 23 June, a slot on the jam stage during the Swing Wespelaar festival and a band coaching session with photo shoot.

So a complete package to give just that push to enter the world of blues outside the rehearsal room.

What does it entail?

• You can apply via this VI.BE call.
• By early June, a selection will be made from all applications, and 4 slots will be awarded to bands to give their best during the event on 23 June at GC Den Brueghel.

For whom?

• We are looking for young, emerging bands (age does not matter) whose repertoire fits within the blues genre.
• Established names and bands already playing at festivals or clubs are not included.
• Since the whole project is based on the idea of coaching and mentoring, we are not looking for perfection, but rather passion and enthusiasm.

Practical

• Target: we are looking for bands from Flanders and Brussels
• Genres: blues
• Wanted: basic info, e-mail, phone, 2 tracks, 1 image, name of band members, instrument of band members and location of band members
• Compensation: Winner will receive a band coaching session, photo shoot and a slot on the jam stage. For the four selected artists, we provide an expense allowance. The winner will receive €300 for a show at our festival.
