THE SEE SEE RIDERS
Saturday 22/8
13:30 - 14:30

The See See Riders is a young quartet entirely dedicated to American roots music. With resonator guitars, violin, double bass, and harmonies, they take the audience on a musical journey through the Mississippi Delta, New Orleans, South Carolina, and Kentucky — places where blues, ragtime, swing, and string band traditions originated.
Their inspiration comes straight from the 1920s and 30s, but their approach is distinctly contemporary. They do not present a reconstruction, but a reworking in which forgotten songs come back to life in fresh arrangements and with great enjoyment.
Armano Persau's voice and guitar form the starting point, supported by Stephan Goldbach's rhythmic, almost danceable double bass. Rebekka Wagner adds a virtuos virtuoso fiddle, while Benjamin Lojak references Tampa Red with his slide guitar. Multi-part vocals provide a warm, folk-like layer.
In addition to traditionals, they also perform original songs that seamlessly fit the old roots style, often with a playful nod to love, loss, and humor.
Their unique lineup featuring classical string instruments makes them stand out within the contemporary blues and roots world. They won the German Blues Challenge and took third place at the European Blues Challenge in Split, Croatia — a strong confirmation of their live qualities.
