American blues guitarist and singer Shawn Pittman was born on Oct. 13, 1974, in Talihina, Oklahoma. At a young age, he became fascinated by the music of blues legends such as Lightnin' Hopkins and Muddy Waters, which shaped his musical direction. At the age of 14, he began playing guitar and developed his own style, combining raw blues with influences from the Texas blues tradition.

 

Since his debut album ‘Burnin’ Up' in 1998, Pittman has released more than 17 albums. His latest album, ‘My Journey,’ was released in March 2025 and was recorded with renowned family band The Özdemirs, consisting of Erkan Özdemir and his sons Kenan and Levent.

 

Pittman is a much-loved artist in Europe and has collaborated with artists such as Susan Tedeschi, Double Trouble, and Anson Funderburgh. His music is characterized by a powerful guitar style, soulful vocals and the recognizable Texas Fender sound.
