Gloria and the Doctors deliver a powerful and compelling blend of blues, gospel, traditional jazz, swing, and funk, driven by a deep love for the African-American musical tradition. Drawing from the roots of the blues, the Italian band creates a warm, energetic, and contemporary sound centered on emotion, groove, and musicality. 

Frontwoman Gloria Turrini is undeniably at the center of it all. With her dark, expressive alto voice and intense stage presence, she effortlessly shifts between intimate ballads, rousing swing, and hypnotic blues and funk grooves. Her powerful personality and soulful vocals make every performance an emotional and dynamic experience. Gloria also spends time regularly in New Orleans, a city that has a clear influence on her music and is audibly reflected in the band’s warm, rhythmic, and soulful undertones. 

At her side is guitarist Riccardo Ferrini, a versatile musician with a strong feel for blues, roots, and New Orleans grooves. His characterful guitar playing adds extra depth and energy to the band. In addition, the band’s sound is enriched by pianist Simone Scifoni, whose playing ranges from subtle, atmospheric accompaniment to rousing rhythm & blues outbursts that add extra color and drive to the music. Together, Gloria and the Doctors create a sound that feels both vintage and fresh: authentic blues with a contemporary soul. 

In recent years, the band has become a prominent name on the Italian and European blues scene and represented Italy at the European Blues Challenge in Poland, where they achieved an impressive second-place finish—a significant recognition of their exceptional live performance skills and musical authenticity.
