DOGHOUSE SAM & HIS MAGNATONES
Sunday 24/8
15:00 - 16:30

In the past 10 years, Doghouse Sam & his Magnatones have built a pretty unique reputation in Europe, with their instantly recognizable sound that reinterprets the good old Rhythm'n'Blues vibe. They have performed concerts in more than 15 different countries and won the Belgian Blues Challenge in 2015. They also took second place at the 2016 European Blues Challenge, further cementing their fearless reputation, with an eclectic sound that simply cannot be found anywhere else!
Doghouse Sam writes and performs his songs with a lot of heart and passion. This resulted in several great albums that were released worldwide and received great reviews internationally. His style of music, infused with the sounds of early Rhythm'n'Blues, found a devoted audience and garnered much positive press.
Doghouse Sam surrounded himself with a bunch of talented artists for his shows. Upright bass virtuoso Martin Ubaghs has literally traveled the world with his music. He has accompanied many big names such as James Intveld, Billy Lee Riley and Gene Summers, just to name a few. Behind the drums is Franky Gomez, who has a very distinctive and creative way of playing rhythm, which earned him the title “best drummer in the Netherlands” in 2010.
After a relatively quiet period for the band, their long-awaited new album “Gone Too Long” was released in December 2024. Therefore it was time for a comback on the the stage of Swing Wespelaar !
